Rajouri : District Level Committee on Forest Rights Act Thursday cleared 65 claims here at its meeting chaired by Deputy Commissioner Rajouri, Vikas Kundal.
The meeting was attended by the DFO Rajouri, Arshdeep Singh; DFO Nowshera, Neelima; ADC Kalakote, Krishan Lal; ADC Sunderbani, Vinod Kumar Behnal; ADC Nowshera, Sukhdev Singh Samyal; ADC Koteranka, Surinder Mohan Sharma; CPO, Mohammad Khurshid; ACP, Abdul Rashid Kohli besides other concerned officers attended the meeting.
After a threadbare discussion and scrutiny of the claims put up in the meeting, the Committee settled 65 cases benefiting over 424 families and 2120 souls-taking the total number of cases settled till date to 960 and number of families benefited to 5196.
Addressing the officers in the meeting, the DC underlined the need for generating mass awareness among the public about the Act so that all eligible beneficiaries are covered under it.
