Gang of vehicle lifters busted in Budgam, accused arrested, 2 more stolen vehicles recovered: Police

Budgam  : Police on Wednesday said that it has arrested one more person and seized two more vehicles in connection with case FIR number 28/2022 pertaining to busting of an Inter-District Gang of vehicle lifters in Budgam.
In a statement issued on Wednesday police said that earlier, four accused persons were arrested & 13 stolen vehicles were recovered in the instant case, adding therein that during the course of investigation of the said case, two more stolen vehicles with fabricated registration numbers were recovered from the Waterihail area of Budgam, taking the toll of recovered stolen vehicles to 15.
“The vehicles include White colour Alto K10 bearing registration number JK08F-6559 & Granite Grey colour Baleno bearing registration number DL7CQ-8839”, reads the police statement, adding that “ Moreover, one more accused person identified as Shabir Ahmad Rather son of Ab Karim Rather resident of Watrhail Budgam has been arrested and shifted to police station where he remains in custody.
Police in it’s statement further said that the investigation of the case is still going on. More arrests and recoveries of stolen vehicles in the instant case are expected.
