DDC Rajouri listens to people’s issues at weekly block divas meeting

Says “Govt focusing on road connectivity for socio-economic dev”

Rajouri : District Development Commissioner Rajouri, Vikas Kundal today said that the government is focusing on Road connectivity for it being key to socioeconomic development of an area.
He was chairing the Block Diwas meeting here at Kalakote.
DDC Member Dhangri, Rarmeshwar Singh; DDC Member Moughla, Shamim Akhter; BDC Chairperson Kalakote, Babu Khan; President MC Kalakote, Vijay Suri; ADDC, Pawan Kumar; DPO ICDS, Kartar Singh; DSEO, Bilal Rashid Mir; SE PWD, Nissar Hussain; CMO, Dr Shamim Un Nissa Bhatti; DSWO, Wakeel Ahmed Bhatt; AD FCS&CA, Arief Lone and ExEns of different departments were also present at the event.
The Panchayat representatives and locals raised scores of issues and demands of their respective areas.
Specific issues projected included Awaas Plus implementation, Forest issues, construction of internal roads, regular inspection of schools, check on illegal encroachment, meeting paucity of staff in government institutions, check on drug menace, development of playground in schools, development of facilities at Tatta Pani, bringing of Pandavsthan on tourism map.
Officers of different departments also made the public aware about the government schemes and motivated them to avail the benefits of the same. The Executing agencies also shared information about their projects and responded to the issues raised by the public during the event.
Additional District Development Commissioner, Pawan Kumar also underlined the roles and responsibilities of Panchayat Raj Institutions for the socioeconomic development of their areas and urged them to work shoulder to shoulder with the District Administration to take their areas to new heights.
After patient hearing to the issues and demands projected by the public on the occasion, the DDC assured that their genuine demands will be redressed in a time bound manner as the District Administration has reached at their doorstep to mitigate their sufferings. He said that the Government is committed to equitable development of urban and rural areas of the district. He also said that the District Administration is working with a mission to meet the developmental aspirations of the public.
Referring to various self employment generation schemes, he urged upon the unemployed and educated youth of the district to enroll for different schemes to avail the benefits under the same.
Highlighting the people’s role in the development process, he said that the Government is acting as a facilitator and public participation is imperative for accelerating the developmental process in their areas.
Responding to the issue of widening of Kalakote Siot road, the DDC informed that the project has been approved under PMGSY PHASE-III. Similarly, the road from Moughla to Khawas also stands approved.
Referring to the skill production potential in Kalakote, he urged upon the farmers to invest in the sector to raise their socioeconomic status.
