Kathua : International Mother Language Day was observed with full fervor in various schools of Kathua district.
A series of activities were organized in the schools including speeches, skits, dramas, songs, poster making, article writing in local regional languages such as Dogri, Pahari and Gojri to highlight the cultural and historical importance of mother tongue.
The teachers of the district also evinced equal enthusiasm in the activities and performed along with the students.
In the calendar issued by the Directorate of School Education, Jammu also, special emphasis was laid on the celebration of the International Mother Tongue Day and connecting the school students with the local and other vernacular languages.
