Baramulla: Adding one more feather in the cap, the District Baramulla was Tuesday declared as the 3rd leading district that has performed remarkably well in public grievance redressal mechanism being monitored through Jammu and Kashmir Integrated Grievance Redress and Monitoring System (JK-IGRAMS), supervised directly by the Lieutenant Governor of the Union Territory.
This was informed today during the 10th episode of LG’s Mulaqaat- a programme whereby the issues of randomly selected applicants across the Union territory of J&K are taken up and heard by LG himself and on spot directions are given to the concerned officers.
The Lt Governor expressed his satisfaction over the progress report on the status of grievances and applauded top five leading performers.
It is worth here to mention that, since the inception of JK-IGRAMS portal, District Baramulla has received 5416 applications, among which as many as 5134 grievances have been resolved with a disposal percentage of 94.79%.
Expressing satisfaction over the constant increase in the rate of disposal of grievances since the portal was launched, the Lt Governor asked the officers to focus more on the quality disposal of public issues.
Pertinently, the online portal was launched with an aim to create an interface with the public and focus on governance issues in the Union Territory. The platform is meant to lodge grievances for the qualitative, prompt and effective redressal by the administration.
JK-IGRAMS was launched to make existing mechanism more robust and efficient wherein there will be a minute by minute status update of the grievances lodged by the general public on the portal. It is a platform for gaining peoples trust on administration. The district administration is taking every step for prompt and speedy disposal of the public grievances by strengthening and augmenting the grievance mechanism to achieve the optimum efficiency.
