Public Hearing regarding Environment Clearance of Mineral Blocks held at Shopian

Shopian : The Pollution Control Committee Shopian Monday organized a public hearing for environment clearance of minor mineral, river bed mineral project for block No. 7 and 9 at Old Fruit MandiArhama, here.
The function was chaired by Additional Deputy Commissioner (ADC) Shopian, Mushtaq Ahmed Simnani.
Assistant Commissioner, Revenue, Shahbaz Ahmed Bodha, District Development Council, Member, Raja Wahid; District Mineral Officer, Shopian, Consultant besides, the citizens of respective blocks were present on the occasion. Threadbare discussion was held regarding the subject and the participants were heard patiently by the ADC and concerned officers.
Addressing the function, the ADC assured that general concerns of people will be taken care of and extraction process shall always be carried out in a systematic and scientific manner. He also said that any person from the concerned mineral block being operationalized soon can approach the concerned officer and District Administration for redressal of any grievance.
The ADD urged people to cooperate with the Administration as well as the concerned department, adding that the department of Geology & Mining should also consider the issues of the people.
DDC Member also threw light on some important issues and initiatives on the occasion.
Earlier, consultants briefed the participants about the extraction process and the rules and regulations to be followed during the extraction.
