CRM team inspects ongoing Projects in Udhampur Distt

Udhampur  : Common Review Mission team headed by Senior Research Officer Monitoring Agriculture NITI Aayog, Batana Anuradha and Dr Ruchira Bhattacharya, Assistant Professor CSR & PPP Delhi Centre, conducted a day long tour of District Udhampur to inspect the ongoing developmental works being executed under different sectors.
During the tour, the CRM Team visited the Gantwal area of Block Chenani and inspected the ongoing developmental works of RDD including IWMP & MGNREGA. On reaching Gantwal, the PRIs and general public of the area welcomed the CRM team.
While interacting with the PRIs & public, the CRM Team informed that the main objective & mission of this review visit to District Udhampur is to assess the implementation of centrally sponsored schemes on ground and take feedback from the PRIs as well as public.
The PRIs projected several demands and issues during the interaction. The CRM team noted down all the demands and assured locals that the genuine demands will be projected to higher authorities for consideration.
The CRM team asked PRIs to work efficiently for implementation of these welfare schemes on the ground and all schemes should be implemented effectively on the ground. They added that the Government has empowered PRIs and they should act as a bridge between Government and public and pace up the development in all sectors.
The CRM Team appreciated the efforts of RDD, IWMP and other sectoral departments. They also inspected the ongoing works of PMGSY road from Chenani to Pattangarh and asked the concerned department to expedite the ongoing work.
Earleir, Sapna Kotwal, Project Manager, IWMP welcomed the special officers of Govt. of India on their visit to District Udhampur.
Later, the CRM team visited Gantwal watershed (Model watershed) under IWMP scheme where it interacted with the watershed committee members and inspected the works in the watershed areas such as Roof Top Rain Water harvesting tanks/Ponds, Bowlies, NBEC Diversion drains.
Public also appreciated Project Manager and field staff members for their cooperation and sincere efforts to make the works program a success and benefit the public. The CRM team interacted with Radhey Sham, one of the beneficiaries of IWMP and felt elated after knowing that the public is getting benefitted by the scheme.
Earlier, the CRM team chaired a meeting of officers of various departments at Dak Bunglow Udhampur.
The Officers of concerned departments briefed the CRM Team about the developmental works being executed in the district by RDD, PMGSY, Social Welfare, IWMP, NRLM etc.
Among others present in the meeting were Additional District Development Commissioner, Kanta Devi; Assistant Commissioner Development, Mushtaq Choudhary; ACP Ranjit Kotwal; BDO Chennai, Om Parkash and other senior officers of civil Administration accompany the CRM team during the tour.
