ADC Shopian stresses for providing quality pesticides to Farmers

Shopian  : The Additional Deputy Commissioner, (ADC) Shopian, Mushtaq Ahmed Simnani Saturday chaired a meeting of Agriculture and Horticulture departments for making available the quality pesticides to the farmers of the district.
The ADC directed for proper market checking, complete ban on sale of fake pesticides and insecticides in this regard and warned of stern action against those found guilty of selling fake pesticides and insecticides to the farmers of the district
The concerned officers were directed to ensure availability of pesticides and insecticides to the farmers through proper sale outlets before the start of season. They were also instructed to mobilize the field functionaries to check the sale, if any, of fake and spurious pesticides.
The enforcement team was directed for proper market checking and inspection to ensure quality standards of pesticides and insecticides products are available in the markets and stern action be taken against those found guilty of selling fake pesticides and insecticides. He also directed for sealing of their shops and canceling their licenses.
The meeting was attended by Assistant Commissioner, Revenue, Shopian, Shahbaz Ahmed Bodha, Chief Agriculture Officer, Chief Horticulture Officer, Food Safety, Enforcement Wing and other concerned.
