DC Bandipora reviews progress of works under Distt Capex Budget

Emphasis laid on timely completion of ongoing projects

Bandipora : The Deputy Commissioner (DC) Bandipora, Dr Owais Ahmad Friday reviewed the progress of works proposed under District Capex Budget (DCB) 2021-22.
Meeting reviewed proposals under the District Capex Plan, 2021-22 including physical status of projects targeted for completion in the current fiscal and took a comprehensive review on the progress of developmental projects undertaken by various departments.
It was revealed that 1704 works which include 1244 under CSS, 412 under Area Development, 46 under Regular and 2 under NABARD have so far been completed in the district in various sectors including MGNREGA works, PMAY (G) works, DDC Grants, BDC works and PMGSY works.
Officers informed that 53 percent of the total budget has been spent in developmental works so far including regular schemes, loan, state share for loan, central share and state share of centrally sponsored schemes.
Deputy Commissioner took a strong note of delay in execution of several works despite allotments and other official formalities.
DC asked officers to personally visit the project sites for ensuring quality and timely completion of projects.
DC Bandipora said unnecessary delay in developmental projects is unacceptable and warned of strict action against officials and officers responsible in delays in execution of works.
Officers informed that Rs 529 Crores have been earmarked for the financial year 2021-22 with major thrust on Jal Jeevan Mission (51%), PMGSY (21%), Rural development Department (8%), Education & Health (8%) etc.
DC Bandipora said 3339 works have been targeted for completion for the financial year 2021-22 which includes 2069 under CSS, 1166 under Area Development, 97 under regular and 7 under NABARD
The DC sought details from the heads of departments including Rural Development department, Health, JKPDCL, R&B, Jal Shakti and other sectors about the approved works, tendering status, status of estimations and progress of ongoing projects/works.
Speaking on the occasion, the DC said that district administration is committed to ensure all development projects/works are completed within a set timeline. He stressed on the concerned officers/officials to take all possible measures to accelerate the pace of the ongoing works for their time-bound completion and directed for regular monitoring of works.
Additional District Development Commissioner Ali Afsar Khan, Joint director Planning Imtiyaz Ahmad, Assistant Commissioner Development Ab Rashid Dass, Assistant Commissioner Panchayat Altaf Ahmad Mosavi Executive Engineer REW, Chief Education Officers, Executive Engineer R&B Bandipora , Sumbal and Gurez besides other senior officers of all the departments were present on the occasion.
