Sopore : Police on Friday said that it has seized nine vehicles for illegal mining and extraction of minerals in sopore.
A police statement issued on Friday said that officers from PS Dangiwachaalong withIncharge Police Post Watergam under the supervision of SDPO Rafiabad Ameen Bhat seized nine vehicles (Tractors) for illegal mining and extraction of minerals at the Laiser crossing area of Sopore.
Stating that a case under relevant sections of law has been registered at Police Station Dangiwacha and further investigation has been also initiated, Police in its above referred statement asked people not to indulge in illegal mining activities from any Nallah as it is the violation of Government rules. Police in it’s statemen also warned that people found indulging in illegal mining activities shall be dealt as per law and asked people to share information regarding the crimes in their neighbourhood with the local police units.
