Baramulla, Pulwama : Police on Thursday said that it has arrested five drug peddlers in a series of actions in Baramulla and Pulwama and also recovered huge quantity of Contraband substances from their possession.
In a statement issued on Thursday police said that in Baramulla, during routine Naka checking, a police party under the supervision of SDPO Kreeri Tariq Mehmood arrested two drug peddlers identified as Shakil Ahmad Beigh son of Fayaz Ahmad resident of Faqirbagh Chandoosa and Imtiyaz Ahmad son of Ab Sattar Chopan resident of Watergam and also recovered 160gms of Charas from their possession.
Stating that in another Similar action, a police party under the supervision of SDPO Tangmarg Hilal Khaliq arrested two drug peddlers identified as Nadeem Ahmed Chak son of Ghulam Mohiudeen resident of Qazipora Tangmarg and Parvaiz Ahmad Bhat @Uka son of Habibullah Bhat resident of Ferozpora Tangmarg , police in it’s statement further said that it also recovered 230gms of Charas from the possession of the accused.
Police in it’s statement furthermore said that in a similar incident in Pulwama a Police Party from Police Post Newa on receiving inputs carried out a raid at residential house of Mohd RamzanWani son of Ab Razzak resident of Singoo Narbal and recovered 30Kgs of Fukki from the said house, stating therein further that the accused person has been arrested and shifted to police station where he remains in custody. Police in it’s statement also said that cases under relevant sections of law have been registered at respective police stations and further investigation are underway.
In the concluding para of its statement police appealed people to come forward with any information regarding drug peddlers in their neighbourhood but warned that people found indulging in drug peddling will be dealt with as per law, stating therein further that consistent actions against drug peddlers are taken to keep society free from the scourge of drug menace.
