Tral : As a part of public outreach program and to strengthen Police-public relationship, Police facilitated Police-public interaction meeting in Awantipora. The meeting was held while following social distancing norms and other Covid protocols.
In a statement issued on Wednesday police said that the said meeting was held at Karmulla Tral and was attended by respectable citizens, local Imams and Awqaf members. The meeting was chaired by SSP Awantipora Mohd Yousif– JKPS accompanied by SDPO Tral, SHO Tral and I/C PC Tral.
The participants highlighted various issues including lack of road connectivity to few hamlets of this remote village, lack of transport service, scarcity of drinking water, poor cellular network connectivity etc. The chairing officers assured them that their genuine grievances will be resolved on priority while as the other issues will be taken up with concerned authorities for their early redressal. The participants were briefed about the apprehensions of spread of Covid-19 and were requested to spread awareness among masses to follow Covid appropriate behaviour.
During interaction, SSP Awantipora requested the participants to send their wards to schools so that they get quality education which can ultimately pave way to ameliorate their living standard. SSP also sought cooperation of Public to Police to curb the crime especially social crime. The participants appreciated the police for conducting such interaction meetings and assured their full support & cooperation in curbing the menace of social crimes and in maintaining law& order.
