GCW Parade hosts online Interactive Session on Tourism as Career

Jammu  : Career Counseling Cell and National Service Scheme Unit of Government College for Woman Parade, in collaboration with School of Hospitality and Tourism Management organised an online Interactive Session on Tourism as Career here under the aegis of Azadi ka Amrut Mahotsav
The event was held under the patronage of Dr. S.P Sarswat, Principal and the guidance of Dr. Mohd. Majeed (HOD, Urdu Department), Dr. Gurpreet Kour (Assistant Professor, Chemistry, Coordinator of the event) and Dr. Pervaiz Ahmed (Assistant Professor, Zoology), NSS Program Officers GCW Parade, and Dr Suvidha Khanna (Assistant Professor, School of Hospitality and Tourism Management, University of Jammu).
Dr. Suvidha Khanna highlighted the key points of Tourism in Jammu and Kashmir UT and acquainted the participants with the importance of Tourism for the economy of the nation. She started off by interacting with the participants and their basic understanding of the term “Tourism”.
The students were also very responsive and answered actively. Dr. Suvidha Khanna, also discussed and apprised the participants about the various career opportunities that the tourism industry has to offer. She encouraged the students to explore available job careers and options for their personal growth and development. She also laid out different career opportunities available for the students. At the end of the session, the participants also expressed their concerns and also sought clarification to clear their doubts which were responded to by Dr. Suvidha Khanna to their satisfaction.Earlier, the session started with an introductory speech by Dr. Gurpreet Kour, (Coordinator of the event). The formal vote of thanks was presented by Dr. Gurpreet Kour, (Coordinator of the Interactive Session).
