Reasi: Kanthan to Sawalakote Road named after HC Gulab Singh

Reasi : As a tribute to Martyr of District Reasi, the Kanthan to Sawlakote road was Saturday renamed as Head Constable Gulab Singh Road here at a tribute paying function.
The Road has been renamed after the Martyr Head Constable in pursuance to the directions of the Government which has taken a unique initiative of paying tributes to the Martyrs by naming the Government Schools, Colleges, Roads etc. in their names.
Besides the Parents of the Martyr, the ceremony was attended by Chairman DDC Reasi Saraf Singh Nag, DC Reasi Charandeep Singh, SSP Reasi Shalindra Singh, ADC Abdul Star, DDC Member, Sarpanches and Panches paid rich tribute to the martyr during the function.
The formal ceremony started with unveiling of Signages followed by floral tribute to the Martyr.
On this occasion, the alumni along with local students presented an emotional tribute to the martyr by presenting an enthralling theatrical performance which filled the ambience with national pride.
The Chairman, DDC narrated his association with the martyr. He stated that the Martyr was a true gentleman who was always ready to sacrifice his life for the dignity and integrity of the nation.
He also assured them regarding the commitment of District Administration Reasi towards their well being and future endeavors and endowments.
Speaking on the occasion, Deputy Commissioner Reasi reiterated that martyrs are the pride and inspiration for the future generations and they will remain immortal for their act of immense sacrifice, valour and service to the motherland. He emphasized that we owe our freedom to the martyrs who ensured that every citizen lives peacefully.
Moreover, DC also expressed his gratitude to the family members of martyr Gulab Singh for their strength and courage.
The SSP Reasi said that the police department shall always remain indebted to martyr Gulab Singh and assured all possible support to his family. The ceremony concluded with the National Anthem.
