DC Kulgam visits Aspirational block D.K.Marg

Kulgam  : Taking governance at the door steps of people and to get first hand appraisal of grievances, issues and demands of people living in far-off and hilly areas in Noorabad, the Deputy Commissioner, (DC) Kulgam, Dr Bilal Mohi-Ud-Din Bhat Saturday visited far- flung areas of Noorabad and also chaired a grievance redressal camp at a hilly hamlet D.K.Marg, here.
During the grievance redressal camp, locals and the PRI members called upon the DC and raised various demands and issues for disposal.
Delegations from Nagam, D.K.Marg, Boh, Chimmer, Sanyadi and other areas participated in this grievance redressal camp.
People put forth a demand for upgradation of Middle school at Boh and establishment of Veterinary centre, development and repairs of roads, repairs of irrigation canal at Nagam, play field at Nagam and Boh, augmentation of water supply scenario besides other demands.
All the issues and grievances highlighted by the people were listened to patiently by the DC and several issues were also redressed on the spot.
As the block D.K .Marg is also an Aspirational Block, the DC was informed that through Gram Sabhas and public participation Aspirational Block Development plan is being formulated and will be finalized soon.
On the occasion the DC also highlighted the importance of Gram Sabhas and stressed on people to ensure mass participation in gram sabhas to include and prioritize the developmental requirements in plan.
During the visit, the DC was accompanied by ADC, Showkat A Rather, SDM Noorabad Umar Shafi Pandith, ACD, ACR and other officers from Jal Shakti and other departments.
