AHD Doda hosts interaction with BDC Chairpersons, Councillors on departmental schemes

DDC Chairman calls for promotion of milk villages

Doda : An awareness camp/ interactive meeting was Thursday held with the District Development Council Councillors and Block Development Council Chairpersons under the Chairmanship of District Development Council Chairman, Dhananter Singh, here in the conference hall of Deputy Commissioner Office to discuss effective implementation of Animal Husbandry department schemes.
The programme was organised in collaboration with the extension wing of Directorate Animal Husbandry Jammu.
During the interactive session, the participants discussed flagship schemes of the Animal Husbandry department including Integrated Dairy Development Scheme (IDDS) IPDP /NAIP / NADCP /NLM. Special thrust was laid on the establishment of cluster villages (Milk Villages) in the rural blocks of the district.
Chairman DDC, while interacting with the Councillors, explained in detail the activities of the department. He stressed on promotion of dairy farming and allied activities including establishment of Milk villages.
The Director Animal Husbandry Jammu addressed the meeting through Google Meet and had comprehensive deliberations on Dairy Development in the District.
The Director expressed his concern over Dairy development in particular reference to the District Doda.
The Councilors pointed out the deficiency of staff at veterinary centres in villages.
Earlier, Dr. Sanjay Kumar Sen, Chief Animal Husbandry Officer Doda, presented welcome address and deliberated on various departmental activities going on in the District.
Poultry Development Officer, Dr. Akhter Hussain presented a general view of the poultry production scenario in the District and explained the IPDP / NLM, Backyard poultry, and commercial broiler production in District and future plan of action.
The speakers hailed the working of the department and laid stress on encouraging backyard poultry in Bhalessa and other far-off places.
