Budgam : Police on Wednesday said that it has arrested a drug peddler in Budgam and recovered Psychotropic substance from his possession.
In a statement issued on Wednesday police said that a Police party from PP Narbal at a checkpoint established at Check-e-Kawoosa intercepted a suspicious person identified as Mudasir Ahmad Mohand son of Abdul Rahim Mohand resident of Check Kawoosa and upon checking recovered 33 Bottles of codeine phosphate & 390 tablets of banned drugs from his possession following which he was arrested and shifted to police station where he remains in custody.
Stating that a case vide FIR No. 17/2022 under relevant sections of law stands registered at Police Station Magam and investigation has been initiated, police in the concluding para of it’s statement appealed people to come forward with any information regarding drug peddlers in their neighbourhood but warned that people found indulging in drug peddling will be dealt as per law, stating therein further that consistent actions against drug peddlers are taken to keep society free from the scourge of drug menace.
