DDC Kathua presides over Block Diwas meeting at Hiranagar

Kathua  : Taking District Administration to the door steps of the general public to listen and redress their grievances and demands, Deputy Commissioner Kathua Rahul Yadav on Wednesday convened a Public Outreach Camp here at PWD Rest House Hiranagar.
ACD Kathua, Sub Divisional Officer Hiranagar, XEN Irrigation Division kathua, XEN PDD, XEN PHE, XEN PWD, XEN PMGSY, XEN RTIC, Chief Education Officer,Tehsildar Hiranagar, Block Development Officer Hiranagar, SHO Hiranagar and various tehsil and block level officers attended the meeting.
The locals and PRI Members of Panchayat Mela, demanded upgrading of 2.5 KM Mela link road and replacement of old electric cables which are posing threat to the life of the local people and animals.
Sarpanch, Haripur Patil, Ravi Sharma complained about overcharging by the CSC centre in the area and demanded action against those involved. He further demanded widening of Haripur- Manyari road for the safety of the people. He raised the issue of increasing drug addiction in the area which is ruining the health of the youth and demanded strict action against the perpetrators.
The locals also demanded availability of G.R. receipts at Niabat level as the people have to move to the tehsil Office for the same.
A number of delegations of the people also met the Deputy Commissioner and projected their demands/grievances. Deputy Commissioner heard the delegations patiently
Speaking on the occasion, the Deputy Commissioner passed directions to the officers of various departments for redressal of projected demands/ grievances. He stressed upon the Food Civil Supplies and Consumer Affairs department to provide ration cards to all eligible left out families. He asked the PRI members to prepare the plan for the next year so that the same could be submitted well in time.
Taking cognizance of the projected complaints, the DC directed the concerned officers to take required action to redress the issues in a time bound manner.
The Deputy Commissioner appealed the people to follow the COVID appropriate behaviour and avoid unnecessary journeys to minimise the risk of Covid infection.
