DIC Jammu launches campaign to aware border youth about Self-employment schemes

Jammu  : District Industries Centre (DIC) Jammu has launched a sustained campaign to aware and encourage the border youth to avail Self-employment schemes.
The campaign launched on February 3 will continue till March 12, 2022 during which a series of awareness camps would be organised in border Villages by the District Industries Centre, Jammu . During the first two days, the camps / seminars were organized at village Haripur [Suchetgarh] and Village Allah & Adlehar [Arnia] respectively with the active participation of public representatives of the border areas. Chairman BDC, Sarpanches and Panches besides 75-90 people attended each camp.
In the camps, General Manager, DIC Jammu Subah Mehta explained the incentives being offered to the beneficiaries under Prime Minister Employment Generation Programme [PMEGP]. She said the unemployed youth can avail the credit linked subsidized loans by starting their ventures under the Manufacturing and Service Sectors. She further highlighted that loans upto Rs 10.00 lakh and upto Rs. 25.00 lacs can be availed under the services and manufacturing sector wherein margin money (subsidy) ranging from 15% to 35% is being provided. A person of minimum 18 years age can apply for loan under this scheme. The beneficiary becomes eligible for expansion of previous PMEGP unit for upto Rs. 25 lacs in Service Sector and upto Rs. 1.00 Crore in Manufacturing Sector after adjustment of Margin Money claim (subsidy) and repayment of first loan within stipulated time, the DIC explained.
Giving details about documents required for availing the benefits of scheme, she said the applicant / candidate should be minimum 18 year age and 8th standard pass and needs to produce Aadhaar Card, PAN Card, 2 Passport Size Photographs, Detailed Project Report (DPR), Highest Education Qualification Certificate, Rural Area Certificate – attested by Sarpanch (in case of Rural Area Units) and Category Certificate-SC/ST/OBC/ Handicapped / Ex-serviceman (if any). The teams deputed for said camps have successfully motivated the youths to avail the benefits of PMEGP scheme to start their ventures under the service / manufacturing sectors. In the coming days, the DIC Jammu is organising more camps and seminars at Village Talhar [Suchetgarh] on the 8th Feb; at Village Kotla & Kathar [Arnia] on 10th Feb.; at Village Ganda [Miran Sahib] on 18th Feb.; at Village Gazia [Miran Sahib] 22nd Feb.; at Village Tikri [Marh] 05th March and at Village Khanpur and Bhawan [Marh] on 12th March, 2022. Meanwhile, subsidy, margin money adjustment letters were also handed over to the beneficiaries, Vishal Singh amounting to Rs. 2.35 lakh; Anjana Kumari amounting to Rs. 2.51 lakh and Tarseem Bali amounting to Rs. 3.75 lakh for further adjustment of loan account with the respective banks.
