9 gamblers arrested in Srinagar, Stake money seized :Police

Srinagar  : Police on Saturday said that it has arrested nine gamblers in Srinagar and also seized stake money from their possession.
In a statement issued on Saturday police said that while acting on specific information, a Police Party of PP Nehru Park under the supervision of SDPO Nehru Park raided a secret gambling site in a houseboat namely Royal Safeena and arrested 09 gamblers.
Stating that officers have seized stake money of ₹1,53,370/- and playing cards from the gamblers who have been shifted to police station where they remain in custody, police in it’s statement further said that a case vide FIR No. 11/2022 under relevant sections of law has been registered at Police Station Ram Munshi Bagh and investigation has been initiated.
In the concluding para of it’s statement police warned that people found indulging in criminal activities shall be dealt as per law but appealed people share information regarding the crimes in their neighbourhood with the local police units.
