G’bal: Kashmir is known as the Earth’s Paradise because of it’s immaculate natural beauty. Westerners refer to it as Asia’s Switzerland. Kashmir is usually called “India’s crown”. Its scenic beauty, fruits, and flowers and its refreshing climate, calming atmosphere, and quietness provide a healing touch to ailing health and aching hearts.
Sagg “SUKH PYEND” is a natural agricultural and cultural retreat Centre in a multi-ethnic rural environment on the Harmukh foothills, overlooking the Sindh and Nigeen valleys. Sagg eco-village is located at the top of the mountain in watlar wuder area of district Ganderbal. Sagg eco-village is spread over 11 kanals of land founded by Fayaz Ahmad Dar in 2012.
The Sagg eco-village is attempting to revitalise Kashmiri culture. Sagg has a large selection of traditional Kashmiri handicrafts. The floor of the restaurant is composed of soil, which has a wonderful odour. The benches and chairs are made of wicker and wood. Similarly, the walls are made of sun-baked earthen bricks.
“In my experience, people are living stressful lifestyles and unable to keep up with the pace of life with the pressures that modern lifestyles put on people. Sagg eco-village is a sort of antidote to that kind of lifestyle. It gives people spaces, services, products, and programs that help them distress, detoxify, regenerate, and re-create. It is an ecological entrepreneurial venture that integrates ecological cultural, personal, and technological resources that are available,” Dar said.
Sagg eco-village prepares and sells healthy dishes with natural ingredients, traditional recipes, and eco-friendly artisan lifestyle products. Individuals, communities, and organisations in Kashmir and beyond benefit from transformational educational, livelihood, and leadership capacity building and consulting initiatives.
Individual and group recreational expeditions and retreats, eco-stays (long and short), the house stay, budget stays, meetings, events, social gatherings, treks, hikes, bike rides, fishing, and eco-therapy expeditions are all hosted and facilitated in Sagg eco-village.
“Sagg eco-village is trying to bring to People’s awareness the culturalwisdom and the culturalpractices that have unique and tremendous benefits. So we are trying to integrateculture, ecology, and technology with our personal needs and resources. Themission is to build integrative and regenerative lifestyles and communities based on integration of ecology cultural and personal human resources”, Dar said.
Eco-friendly dormitories, mud huts, tents, a garden cafe, indoor and outdoor recreational and play areas, separate male and female lavatory blocks with composting and flush toilets, and hot and cold showers are among Sagg’s amenities. The unique natural beauty, local cultural wisdom, and world-famous Kashmiri hospitality will help you slay stress, rediscover calm, and refresh yourself to the core here.
Sagg also provides ecological entrepreneurship coaching, training, consulting programs, and sustainable personal and community development. Sagg services, venues, products, and initiatives are also adapted and developed anyplace and everywhere.
