Drug peddler arrested in Budgam, Contraband substance recovered: Police

Budgam  : Police on Thursday said that it has arrested a drug peddler in Budgam and also recovered contraband substance from his possession.
In a statement issued on Thursday said police said that a Police party from PS Khansahib at a checkpoint established at Katresh Wooder and intercepted a person riding a motorcycle bearing registration No. JKO2CF-3344 who was identified as Mohammad Ashraf Kumar son of Abdul Gaffar Kumar resident of Yarikha Khansahib and upon checking officers recovered 900grams of Charas from the possession of the above accused who was arrested and shifted to police station where he remains in custody, stating therein further that Motorcycle used in the commission of the crime has also been seized.
Police in it’s statement further said that a case vide FIR No.12/2022 under relevant sections of law stands registered at Police station Khansahib and investigation has been taken up.
In the concluding para of it’s statement police appealed people to come forward with any information regarding drug peddlers in their neighbourhood but warned that people found indulging in drug peddling will be dealt as per law, stating therein further that actions against drug peddlers are taken to keep society free from the scourge of drug menace.
Theft case solved in Baramulla, accused persons arrested: Police

Baramulla | Feb, 3 : Police on Thursday said that it has solved a theft case by arresting 02 accused persons involved in the commission of crime in Baramulla and also recovered the stolen mobile phones from his possession.
In a statement issued on Thursday police said that Police Post Delina on Ist February received a written complaint from Shakeel Ahmad Ganaie son of Sonaullah Ganaie resident of Sahipora Langate stating therein that while travelling from Sopore to Baramulla in mini bus he lost his mobile phone, adding therein that a person was sitting next to him in the vehicle and got-off from the bus at Delina market, the co-passengers told him that he is a renowned thief, perhaps has stolen his mobile phone.
Stating that a case under relevant sections of law was registered at PS Baramulla and investigation was taken up, police in it’s statement further said that during the course of investigation, a special investigation police team headed by SHO PS Baramulla assisted by IC PP Delina under the supervision of Dy SP Hqrs Baramulla was constituted.
“After strenuous efforts, the special team raided at several suspected locations & one person was arrested and identified as Ishfaq Ahmad Lone @ Barmuda son of Fayaz Ahmad Lone resident of Delina Ghat”, reads the police statement, adding that “ On the disclosure of the said accused the involvement of another partner namely Tahir Ahmad Dar son of Farooq Ahmad Dar resident of Delina Ghat surfaced”.
Stating that on their disclosure, 9 stolen mobile phones were recovered from the accused who also confessed their involvement in different mobile theft incidents which took place within Town Baramulla and Sopore, police in it’s statement said “Further investigation into the case is going on and more arrests and recoveries are also expected”.
In the concluding para of it’s statement police resolved to act tough against individuals involved in criminal activities.
