Rajouri : District Development Commissioner Rajouri, Vikas Kundal today conducted a day-long tour of the Kotranka and inspected the progress on the developmental projects being executed in different parts of the subdivision.
The DDC was accompanied by the ADC Koteranka, Surinder Mohan Sharma; SE Hydraulics, JP Singh; SE PDD, PO ICDS, Kartar Singh; ExEn PDD Rajouri, Narotam Kumar; ExEn Jal Shakti Rajouri, Mushtaq Ahmed; ExEn PMGSY Budhal, Abdul Gani and other concerned officers during his visit.
The DC inspected the 20000 gallon per hour filtration plant at Kandi and asked the department to take steps for laying of supply pipes proposed to be executed under Jal Jeevan Mission. He also inspected the Ecotourism park in the area and Community Health Centre Kandi and took stock of the patient care facilities and the COVID mitigation measures. He inspected different sections of the hospital including the emergency ward, laboratory and x-ray unit, OPD rooms etc and took stock of the medical supplies. He asked the hospital administration to ensure observance of COVID-19 safety protocols by the staff and patients to avoid the risk of infection.
During the inspection of the progress on 30 KM Koteranka to Khawas road, the concerned engineers informed that 11 KM road has been shingle metalled so far.
He also inspected the pace of progress on Sub District Hospital Koteranka being executed by JKPCC. The DDC asked the executing agency to speed up the pace and complete the project within the set timeline.
Later, the DDC also interacted with the locals who apprised him about several issues and demands of their areas. They demanded early completion of work on Koteranka to Khawas road, laying of supply pipes of filtration plant at Kandi, start of work on ANS irrigation; construction of GDC Building Koteranka, sanctioning of additional Anganwadi centres, restoration of PDD infrastructure damaged due to incessant rains/ snowfall.
The locals also demanded additional electricity poles to meet the shortage, sanctioning of a 25 KV transformer for Hubbi, development of sanitary complex at Koteranka town, construction, up-gradation of internal roads, sanctioning of additional handpumps etc. They also sought the intervention of the DDC regarding ‘inflated electricity bills’
The DDC gave a patient hearing and assured that all their genuine concerns would be redressed in a phased manner. He also sought the active cooperation of the general public with the District Administration to take their areas to new heights of development.
