DC Reasi inspects ongoing works under JJM, Asks deptt for completing 7 projects of WSS before

Reasi : District Development Commissioner (DDC) Charandeep Singh today inspected the works of Aghar Jitto water supply scheme (WSS) being executed by Jal Shakti department.
The DDC was accompanied by Executive Engineer Jal Shakti Reasi, AEEs, Junior Engineers, contractors and other officials associated with the department.
The DC inspected three ground service reservoir structures of scheme having water storing capacity of 80,000 gallons and GI pipe structures from Fasku spring to location of reservoirs. The DC further inspected the electro mechanical works at Fasku spring and other locations.
Instructions were passed to the engineers for completing all pending works as early as possible for smooth commissioning of water supply scheme before march and for which assurance was also made by the contractor for adhering time lines.
Being executed at an estimated cost of Rs. 457 lakhs, the Aghar Jitto WS scheme shall benefit over 6200 souls of Aghar Jitto, Akhali, Butan and Pangath habitations and a total of 199 individual and community locations shall be covered by providing tap water connections.
On the location of WSS, DDC Member Katra Nirmala Devi and PRI members of the panchayat also meet with DC and informed him about the areas where water supply is required on priority besides further expansion of the scheme by increasing individual tap water connections.
It is worth while to mention that in sub-division Reasi, out of 58 sanctioned water supply schemes under Jal Jivan Mission(JJM), works on 6 is in full swing and for remaining schemes, contractors are dumping material at the locations.
The engineers were also directed to personally monitor all water supply schemes of the sub-division and expedite the pace of work so that local people will get uninterrupted water supply in their areas before the fixed timelines.
