These days social media is flooded with horrible and heart wrenching stories regarding the women folk. It indicates the barbaric nature of 21st century people who are being considered well educated and advanced. The whole Human society is now in a state of jeopardy because of various social evils and one of the major evil that is too prevalent in the present society is drowning system. The society of humans are not less than wild animals who are savagely fierce cruel and violent haunting for acquisitiveness. It is very unfortunate to say that such incidents are rising at it’s rapid rate in the valley of Kashmir.Yesterday I was discussing the same issue with my friends they too believed that such incidents are the black blots on the face of society. One of my friend who is currently pursuing Masters at Kashmir University said, People of current era are drifting away from Islamic teachings that is why such incidents are happening at it’s faster rate. Then I thought it is necessary to coloured today’s topic with the beautiful teachings of Islamic that is perfectly based on ethics and morality. Islam has designated a special reward for raising girl child that is not granted for raising sons. Jabiri bin Abdullah (may Allah be pleased with him) reported that the Prophet (pbuh) said, Who ever has three daughters and he accommodates them, show mercy towards them, and supports them, Paradise is definitely guaranteed for him.
The Hadith of Prophet Muhammad (pbuh) , “Heaven lies at the feet of mothers.”The Prophet (peace be upon him) was most emphatic in enjoining upon Muslims to be kind to their women when he delivered his famous khutba on the Mount of Mercyat Arafat in the presence of one hundred and twenty-four thousand of his companions who had gathered there for the Hajjal-Wada (Farewell Pilgrimage). In it he ordered those present, and through them all those Muslims who were to come later, to be respectful and kind towards women. He said: “Fear Allah regarding women. Verily you have married them with the trust of Allah, and made their bodies lawful with the word of Allah. You have got (rights) over them, and they have got (rights) over you in respect of their food and clothing according to your means.” In Islam a woman has given all the rights. The society of Kashmiri was known for it’s morality as some one has rightly connoted it with PeerVaar. The culture of west has totally monopolized the minds of people especially the youth with bitterness. In the existing society deterioration of moral, social and spiritual values at it’s peak. Modernity has also become a serious threat to the society. In the present social set-up the definition of good morals has been questioned. Today, newspapers, magazines and other media platforms are flooded with reports of crime, murder, agitation, violence, immorality, rape, corruption, bribery, youth unrest, communal violence, cyber crime, etc. Every one watches such occurrences on social sites like Facebook and Whatssap that will adversely affect the present generation. Let us follow the teachings of Islam in letter and spirit as Islam is the religion of truth and peace. It is the embodiment of the code of life which Allah, the Creator and Lord of the universe, has revealed for the guidance of mankind. Lastly I conclude all this with the beautiful urdu couplet of Dr.Alama Iqbal.
