e-Auction of Mineral Blocks: DC Shopian chairs e-Auction committee meeting

Shopian :The Deputy Commissioner(DC)Shopian,Sachin Kumar Vaishya,who is also Chairman of e-Auction Committee,Geology and Mining Department Tuesday chaired a meeting of e-Auction Committee convened to discuss various aspects of auctioning of mineral deposits available in the district and e-Auction process.
On the occasion,the committee members put forward their valuable suggestions with regard to the excavation of minerals without affecting the working of respective departments.
The DC stressed for scientific and sustainable extraction of minerals without damaging ecology and aquatic life in these areas besides developmental works of several departments.
He instructed the concerned officers to keep close vigil on illegal mining while extraction of minerals.
While discussing the mining plan for extraction of minerals,the committee decided that extraction should be strictly done manually without use of any excavators.
The meeting was attended by all Committee Members,which include Joint Director,Mining,Srinagar,Executive Engineer I&FC division Shopian,Tehsildar,Shopian and District Mineral Officer,Shopian.
