SKUAST Jammu launches website of forthcoming Int’l Conference on Sustainable Agricultural Innovations

Jammu :Prof J.P. Sharma, Vice-Chancellor of Sher-e Kashmir University of Agricultural Sciences and Technology of Jammu (SKUAST-J) and Professor A.K. Dhawan, President of the Indian Ecological Society on Monday launched the website https://iesconf.in/ of the forthcoming International Conference on “Sustainable Agricultural Innovations for Resilient Agri-Food Systems” which is being jointly organized by SKUAST of Jammu and the Indian Ecological Society from 13th to 15th October, 2022.
The said Conference is a premiere Global Event for exchanging latest multidisciplinary Agricultural Research innovations and strategies for resilient agri-food systems. The scientific authorities from India and abroad will deliberate on the agricultural innovations to enhance food security and productivity in a sustainable manner, climate resilient food solutions, restoration of natural resources, future of farming (internet of things (IoT), agricultural sensors & farming drones) and public health and food safety.
The notable confirmed keynote speakers attending the Conference are Prof. John H Perkins, Prof. Muni Muniappan, Prof. Miguel A. Altieri, Dr. K.R. Kranthi from the United States of America; Prof. Per Kudsk, Dr. Olivier Dangles, Dr. Yves Vigouroux, Dr. Jules Pretty from Europe; Dr. Alison Bentley and Dr. B.M. Prasanna from International Maize and Wheat Improvement Center (CIMMYT), Prof. Zeyaur R. Khan, Dr. Menale Kassie from Africa and Prof. Nazir A. Ganai, Prof. P.S. Birthal, Dr. Shannon Olsson, Prof. Dinesh K. Marothia and Dr. V.P. Singh from India. Prof. J. P. Sharma, Vice Chancellor was satisfied and happy with the progress for the conference.
Prof. RajinderPeshin, Vice President of the Society and organising Secretary of the conference, said that the forthcoming International Conference will be a mega event and it will encourage and promote ecological studies in the country. The launch was attended by Prof. S. K. Gupta, President and Prof. K. K. Sood, General Secretary of Jammu and Kashmir Chapter of the Indian Ecological Society. The other office bearers of Jammu and Kashmir Chapter present in the launch include Prof. Vikas Sharma, Joint Secretary; Dr. Rakesh Sharma, Treasurer; Prof. VirenderKaul, Counsellor and Dr. Anil Bhat, Counsellor.
