Srinagar : Inspector General of Police (IGP) Kashmir Zone, Vijay Kumar on Monday visited Sopore and conducted security and operational review meeting with senior Police and Army officers.
Officials said the IGP instructed Sopore Police to generate actionable inputs and conduct anti-militancy operations along with Army. Besides focus was given on taking stringent action against drug peddlers in this area, they said.
Later on, IGP Kashmir along with the Deputy Inspector General of Police (DIG) South Kashmir and SSP visited Hassanpora Anantnag where he met with the family of slain Head Constable Ali Muhammad Ganaie and paid tribute to him. Ganaie was shot dead on January 29 in Bijbehara area of Anantnag district
