2 bootleggers in Bandipora illicit liquor recovered: Police

Bandipora : Police on Moday said that it has arrested two bootleggers in Bandipora and also recovered 15 bottles of illicit liquor from their possession.
In a statement issued on Monday police said that officers at a checkpoint established at Pazalpora near forest Check Post intercepted a vehicle bearing registration number JK01K-9517 with two persons on board identified as Reyaz Ahmad Ganie resident of Ayatmulla and Javaid Ahmad Ahanger resident of Bankoot and upon searches recovered 15 bottles of illicit liquor from their possession, stating therein further that both the above named accused have been arrested and shifted to Police Station where they remain in custody and the vehicle used in the commission of crime has also been seized.
Stating that case FIR No. 03/2022 under relevant sections of law has been registered in PS Pethkote and investigation into the matter has been initiated the police in it’s statement appealed people to come forward with any information regarding anti-social elements in their neighbourhood but warned that people indulging in anti social activities will be dealt as per law.
