DDC Chairman Rajouri holds public outreach camp at Panchayat DharaSawala of block Doongi

Rajouri  : To redress the public grievances at doorsteps of the people, District Development Council Chairman Rajouri, NaseemLiyaqat Saturday held a public outreach camp at PanchayatDharaSawala of block Doongi.
BDC Chairperson Doongi, RaizChowdhury; SarpanchDoongiBharamna, VipanDutta; SarpanchDharaSawla, FahrenAkhter; SarpanchNambla, panches and public from all sections of the society attended the event with due adherence to COVID 19 protocols.
The public and their representatives put forth numerous issues and demands of their respective areas.
Specific issues included release of pending payments of SBM and MGNREGA, construction of internal roads, sanctioning of pension cases, check on unscheduled curtailments, inflated electricity bills, land for KV school to be transferred etc.
Other issues included a separate medical block for Doongi, 108 ambulance, early start of work on GDC Doongi building, sanctioning of additional handpumps besides other related issues were projected during the program.
Addressing the participants, the District Development Council Chairperson said that the council is making untiring efforts to redress the genuine concerns of the public and sought the active cooperation of all the stakeholders in this regard.
He also said that the District Development Council is presently at the inception stage and effective measures are being taken to strengthen it for the inclusive, all-round and substantial development of all the areas of the district and much emphasis is being laid to push every sector to take J&K to newer heights and new levels of prosperity.
While replying to the issue of water scarcity, he said that the Government has launched an ambitious program called JalJeevan Mission and all the households of the district would be provided functional tapped water connections with the implementation of the program on ground.
Regarding the shortage of electrical poles, the DDC Chairman informed that a barbed wire scheme has been sanctioned at an estimated cost of Rs 56 crores for Rajouri district and the scheme is in tendering stage. He asked the PRIs to identify the sites where the electrical poles are to be installed so that the work can be started once the tender is allotted.
Responding to the demand for construction of the internal roads, the DDC Chairman asked the concerned officers to expedite the progress on under execution PMGSY projects and project the demands/ requirement for new roads.
Regarding the transfer of land for KV School at Doongi, he assured the public that the matter will be taken with the concerned authorities.
Addressing the issue of pending payments under SBM and MGNREGA, he asked the concerned BDO to clear the pendency in ten days. He also asked the social welfare department to redress the issue of the pension cases in consultation with the PRIs.
Similarly, he also assured the public that all their genuine concerns would be redressed in a phased manner with the intervention of the concerned quarters.
Earlier, Block Development Council Chairperson Doongi, RaizChowdhury also highlighted various developmental works being executed by different departments in the block.
Later, the Chairman also inspected some internal roads of the area. He also visited PHC Chatyar and health sub centre at DharaSawala and took stock of the healthcare services being provided to the general public there.
