Drug peddler arrested inBandipora: Police

Bandipora: Police on Friday said that it has arrested a drug peddler in Bandipora and also recovered contraband substance from his possession.
In a statement issued on Friday police said that while cting on specific information, a police party from PP Aloosa, under the supervision of DySP Hqrs Bandipora established a checkpoint at Kanbathi Kehnusa and intercepted a suspicious person identified as Wassem Raja Reshi son of Nazir Ahmad Reshi resident of KehnusaBandipora and upon checking recovered 1190 tablets & 56 Capsules of banned drug & 50 grams of charas from his possession, stating therein further that the accused has been arrested and shifted to police station where he remains in custody.
Stating that a case under relevant sections of law has been registered at Police Station Bandipora and further investigation has been taken up, police in the concluding para of it’s above referred statement appealed people to come forward with any information regarding drug peddlers in their neighbourhood but warned that people found indulging in drug peddling will be dealt as per law.
