82 Lakh spl welfare relief,ex-gratia for NOKs of deceased Police personnel: DGP

Jammu : Director General Police Dilbag Singh has sanctioned rupees 38 lakh ex-gratia relief in favour of dependents/legal heirs of a martyr Police official and also sanctioned rupees 44 lakh as Special Welfare Relief in favour of NoKs of two deceased Police personnel.

According to a police statement issued on Monday the DGP under order No. 272 of 2022, DGP has sanctioned Rupees 38 lakh as ex-gratia relief in favour of NoKs of Ct Ashfaq Ahmad who attained martyrdom in 2020.

In yet another order of PHQ the Special Welfare Relief of rupees 22 lakh each has been sanctioned in favour of dependents/legal heirs of deceased Police personnel SgCt. Pawan Kumar and SgCt. Manohar Singh who passed away due to illness while in service.

Out of this amount (Special Welfare relief) Rs one lakh each has already been paid to the families/NoKs for performing the last rites as immediate relief by the PHQ through their concerned Units/Districts. The financial assistance has been given out of the Contributory Police Welfare Fund.
It is pertinent to mention here that Police Headquarters is running many schemes for the welfare of its personnel and their families. There are also schemes for the wards of Police personnel and SPOs. Besides, there are schemes for the NoKs of slain police personnel, their wards and also for the retired Police personnel and their spouses.
