PG College Rajouri hosts webinar on life and works of Shahbaz Rajourvi

Rajouri : A one day National webinar on the Life and Works of Shahbaz Rajourvi, the noted writer, poet, scholar, thinker and polyglot of Jammu and Kashmir, was conducted Saturday under the aegis of Government P. G. College, Rajouri on his 1st death anniversary.
The seminar was patronized by the College Principal Prof. Dr. Shakeel Ahmed Raina. The moderator of the webinar was Dr. Abdul Haq Naimi, Head Urdu Department.
Galaxy of luminaries of J&K and outside participated in the seminar. Wali Mohammad Aseer Kishtwari, Shitya Akademi Awardee and former D.G. Treasury and Accounts, J&K Government, was the keynote speaker. Asser spoke at length about the literary works of Shahbaz Rajourvi and his contribution towards propagation and preservation of regional languages, especially Kashmiri, Gojri and Pahari in Jammu region.
Dr. Mushtaq Alam Qadri, Department of Urdu, University of Delhi was the special guest. Citing Shahbaz Rajourvi’s Urdu poetry and prose, Dr. Qadri spoke about his highest level of poetic craft and literary acumen and how it has shaped a breed of young writers and poets in the region. Prof. Mohammad Rayaz Ahmed, Head of the Department of Urdu, University of Jammu, was the guest of honor. He spoke about the influences of Shahbaz’s writings and contribution in enriching the Urdu language in Jammu and Kashmir.
Prof. ShohabAnayat Malik, Principal of the Institute of Music and Fine Arts, University of Jammu, was the chief guest, who spoke at length about his personal association with ShahbazRajourvi, describing it as lifetime learning and enriching memories. In the technical segment of the seminar, Dr. Mohammad Asif Aleemi presented his article, ShahbazRajourvi ki Gazal Mai TalmiyatiShaur. Another paper was presented by Dr. Naimi. Other notable speakers were; Maulana Syed Habib, Dr. RyazTawheedi, Dr. M.K. Waqar, Mr. R. A. Inqalabi, Prof. Iqbal Raina, Prof. Abdul Rauf Dar and Mr. Laldeen who spoke about various facets and literary and cultural contributions of Shahbaz Rajourvi. Noted author Mr. Gaurav Mahajan of Himachal Pradesh also graced the seminar. The vote of thanks was presented by the sons of ShahbazRajourvi, Dr. AnisAltafNabi and Group Captain Farooq Fareed Nabi.
