Preparation of area Dev plan 2022-23 discussed at Udhampur

Udhampur : District Development Council Udhampur Friday discussed the preparation of Area Development plan for the financial year 2022-23 here at its meeting chaired by the Council Chairperson, Lal Chand.
The meeting held detailed discussion regarding formulation of Area Development plan, Panchayat, Block and District level plans for different sectors.
DDC Vice Chairperson, Juhi Manhas Pathania, Deputy Commissioner, Indu Kanwal Chib, all BDCs, DDCs, ADDC (Chief Executive Officer), Chief Planning Officer, ACD, Block Development Officers and officers of other departments attended the meeting.
The plans will include projects for Rural connectivity, Rural infrastructure, PHE, Irrigation water conservation, Agriculture, Power, Health, Education, besides Developing area specific potential and generating employment
At the outset, the ADDC gave a sector wise detailed powerpoint presentation on the physical and financial progress achieved on developmental works being executed by different departments in the district during the year 2021-22. She urged the BDCs, DDCs and PRIs to give their valuable suggestions to make the Next ADP (2022-23) plan more effective and fruitful.
The Deputy Commissioner also briefed the meeting about the formulation of the District Development Plan for the current year.
The projects proposed under different sectors for next year’s plan were discussed in detail. The education department proposed the construction of the smart classrooms and the JAKEDA highlighted the major policies of the department that can be included in the plan.
Major components of District Capex which include UT component, Regular Schemes Negotiated Loan, Central Share for CSS & State Share for CSS.
The meeting stressed on formulating a holistic Area Development Plan covering all the sectors. The DC said that timely formulation of the development plan will help a lot to take up the work in a time bound manner. All the BDC’s and DDCs gave their suggestions for better planning at the block level. The DDC Chairperson appreciated the efforts of District Administration for holding such a valuable interaction programme for the Council representatives. He said that such programmes go a long way for effective formulation of District plan which would definitely percolate benefits down to grassroots level.
The DDC Chairperson and DDC vice chairperson also guided the District development council members regarding modalities to be followed in formulation of plans at different levels to address the aspirations of the public.
The DDC Chairperson reiterated that plans at every level be framed by incorporating the public demands raised at different platforms. Further, he called for completing the plan formulation exercise in a time bound manner in consultation with all stakeholders and departments.
