Pulwama : Police on Friday said that it has arrested a drug peddler in Pulwama and also recovered contraband substance from his possession.
In a statement issued on Friday police said that on receiving a specific input, a Police Party from Police Station Litter raided a specific location in village Naina Batapora area of Pulwama and during searches recovered 13Kgs of Poppy Straw from the residential house of Tanveer Ahamd Bhat son of Gh Mohd Bhat resident of Naina Batapora who was arrested and shifted to police station where he remains in custody.
“Accordingly, a case vide FIR No. 06/2022 under relevant sections of law has been registered in Police Station Litter and investigation set into motion”, reads the above quoted police statement.
In the concluding para of it’s statement police appealed people to come forward with any information regarding drug peddlers in their neighbourhood but warned that people found involved in drug peddling will be dealt as per law, reassuring therein that consistent actions against drug peddlers are taken to keep society free from the scourge of drug menace.
