Rajouri : Amid the spike in the number of COVID19 cases in the district, Deputy Commissioner VikasKundal accompanied by the Senior Superintendent of Police, Mohammad Aslam Thursday conducted a round of the Rajouri town to take the first-hand appraisal of COVID appropriate behaviour enforcement.
ACR, Tahir Mustafa Malik; TehsildarRajouri, Mehmood Khan; DIO, Narinder Kumar and other officers also accompanied the DC during his visit.
During the inspection, the DC visited various areas of the market to oversee the CAB enforcement.
While interacting with the traders, transporters and pedestrians, the DC asked them to ensure strict compliance to the Government directions for larger public safety and health.
Masks among the Commuters were also distributed during the checking.
Talking to the media persons, the DC said that the inspection was carried out to take stock of the implementation of various Government Advisories and Guidelines and Covid-19 SOPs such as wearing of Masks, maintaining social distance, and other practices to protect the public health and prevent the spread of infection of the deadly Coronavirus.
“During the inspection, it has been observed that about Eighty per cent of people in the town were complying with the COVID related protocols”, the DC said.
He said that this twenty per cent population who are not adhering to CAB are posing a great threat to the rest of the people who are following COVID SOPs and therefore the need of the hour is to ensure that all the people follow COVID 19 protocols in letter and spirit to avoid the risk of infection.
He also said that the District Administration is working to the best of its potential to avert the third COVID wave in the district but the need of the time is to continue to take precautions to beat the deadly coronavirus.
The DC further said that the District Administration Rajouri has achieved the target of 100 percent vaccination of the adult population in the border district and effective steps have been taken to ensure 100 vaccinations of children between the 15-18 age group. He also appealed to the parents to get their children vaccinated at the earliest.
