Spl Covid Testing drives initiated across Distt Rajouri

Rajouri :To contain the spread of the COVID amid the third wave by the way of early detection of the positive cases, the District Administration Rajouri is laying special focus on aggressive testing.
Keeping in view the importance of the aggressive testing, Deputy Commissioner, VikasKundal has asked the Health Authorities to redouble the COVID mitigation efforts by ramping up testing, coupled with aggressive surveillance and effective contact tracing to break the chain of transmission.
Health Authorities are putting in place their best efforts to avert the third COVID wave with emphasis on Special Testing Drives, planned for the District in phased manner. The field functionaries of the Department are motivating the public to get themselves tested for COVID if they feel any symptoms of coronavirus infection. The department is also putting in extra efforts to test all Persons in the Micro Containment Zones.
During the Special Testing drive, as many as 5763 samples have been collected including 4227 of RAT and 1536 of RT-PCR in the health blocks of Manjakote, Darhal, Kalakote, Subderbani, Nowshera, Kandi and also from GMC Rajouri, out of which 74 persons were detected as Covid Positive today.
Apart from this, the entry points to the district have been plugged in and all the outsiders and International travellers are being tested for COVID19 before they enter the district.
Special Joint COVID Control and Surveillance teams have been constituted to strictly implement the COVID protocols to minimise the spread of infection.
