DC Budgam finalizes arrangements for ensuing R-Day celebration

Budgam : The Deputy Commissioner (DC) Budgam, Shahbaz Ahmed Mirza Monday chaired a meeting of district officers and various security agencies for finalising arrangements in connection with upcoming Republic Day-2022 celebrations.
The meeting was informed that the main function of the Day shall be held at Sports Stadium, Budgam while similar functions would be held at sub-division and Tehsil levels also.
It was also given out that the contingents of JKP, CRPF, NCC will participate in the march past parade. Besides various cultural programmes would also be part of the celebrations and an award felicitation ceremony will also be held at the venue.
On the occasion, various committees like the hospitality committee, stage management committee, selection committee were formed for the smooth conduct of the celebrations.
Different departments viz, Education, PHE, R&B, DYSSO, Information, Health, Sports, Traffic, Motor Vehicles, Police, Floriculture, PDD, Municipality and Paramilitary Forces were identified for looking after their respective assignments.
The decoration of the main venue ground, seating arrangements, uninterrupted power supply, drinking water/tanker service, barricading of venue, medical aid camp, availability of ambulance, deployment of fire tenders, transportation facilities, adequate and separate vehicle parking, refreshment, invitations, PAS system, brochures, cleanliness and sanitation measures were discussed threadbare in the meeting.
The DC stressed upon strict observance of COVID-19 SOPs and CAB by all participants with special emphasis on march past parades and cultural programmes. The DC further instructed upon smooth transportation, mobile toilets and change room facilities for participants.
Security agencies were instructed to ensure fool-proof security arrangements at all the venues where functions in this regard will be held across the district.
Heads of departments were also instructed to install banners of their departments for showcasing their activities for the general public.
Among others the meeting was attended by ADDC Budgam, ADC, J.D Planning, GM DIC, ACD, CEO Yousmarg and Doodhpathri, CEO, District Officers, DSP DAR, heads of security agencies, Ex. Engineers of R&B, I&FC and other concerned officers and officials.
