Srinagar: Death is what leaves near and dear ones in a perpetual pain and the demise of Syed Bashir Ahmed Bukhari the father of Editor-In Chief of “The Kashmir Horizon” a decade ago was in no way different for the Kashmir Horizon Family. Syed Bashir Ahmad Bukhari left this transient world in the night intervening 16th and 17th January in the year 2012 .A decade is a course enough to efface memories but the vivid moments the Kashmir Horizon family particularly the Editor In Chief of this newspaper as his eldest son had with him are perennial ones .Time cannot pale these memories as they are replete with unending love, knowledge and experience he always shared with one and all in the Kashmir Horizon family .The world is transient and so is it’s life .Sooner or later one has to bid adieu to it .What matters the most is what one leaves behind and fact of the matter is that the Kashmir Horizon family particularly the Editor In Chief of this newspaper is proud of the legacy late Syed Bashir Ahmad Bukhari left behind .The principle of his life that one must lead an impeccable life without extraneous considerations is what all of us in the Kashmir Horizon family must gloat over . He always used to insist that one is remembered by the deeds after death, so virtue should not give way to vice. As he had always a literary bent of mind and valued social service, he goaded one and all in the Kashmir Horizon family particularly the Editor In Chief of this newspaper upto float a newspaper which he did! The mega outlook of late Syed Bashir Ahmad Bukhari that one must be altruistic is something that occupied a considerable space in the mind and heart of Editor In Chief of this newspaper and he tried his bit to cling to advice of his father.
In the face of unavoidable challenges running a newspaper is a herculean task now, but the Editor In Chief of this newspaper derives strength from the insights of his late father and shows the courage looking at the vision of his late father for the empowerment of people. Late Syed Bashir Ahmad Bukhari was so courageous that he always conquered what he believed was invincible whether family affairs or other ones, he always emerged as a victor .Kashmir Horizon family particularly the Editor In Chief of this newspaper owes to him what cannot be described in words .What he taught Editor In Chief of this newspaper as his eldest son is worth plenteous treasures. May Almighty Allah the most beneficent and the most merciful bless his soul with peace and may he have the best place in Jannah, Aameen!
