Srinagar/Jan, 16: The Chairman Employees Joint Consultative Committee(EJCC) Kashmir and President CAPD Employees Association Kashmir Aijaz Ahmad Khan has voiced serious concern over the sale of Food grains through POS devices amid  recent  unprecedented surge in Covid-19 Cases.

Stating that the both Employees and  as well as the Fair Price Shop dealers are prone to infection through the use of Biometric Authentication as they have to directly face the consumers at the sale outlets, Khan  appreciated the preparations for availability of rations and Planning of Government for combatting the Omicron, the new variant of Covid-19 virus, but voiced serious  concern over the quiescent approach of the government towards the employees who, he said, have always put the lives on risk and served the People of Jammu and Kashmir tirelessly. Stating that both the Employees and as well the Fair Price Shop dealers have reached every nook and delivered the Ration to the bonafide Rationees, Khan said “Undoubtedly Aadhar based biometric sale of food grains is a profound track in for transparency in supply of ration but the lives  of covid warriors supplying ration to the consumers with transparency are at risk in the times of covid pandemic spread and  as such the decision of not conducting sale through POS devices should be considered immediatley in the interest of the covid warriors of FCS&CA department in Kashmir”, said Aijaz Ahmad Khan.

Khan further said that all the field functionaries of Food, Civil Supplies and Consumer Affairs Department Jammu and Kashmir should be provided with protective gears like masks, gloves and sanitizers, so as to safeguard their lives against this deadly virus which has consumed thousands of lives

Khan during a presser in Srinagar appealed the  Lieutenant Governor, Advisor to  LG, Commissioner Secretary FCS&CA Deptt and Director FCS&CA Kasmir to suspend the use of POS devices on sale Depots of Jammu and Kashmir, stating therein that such a decision This will not only boost the morale of Employees and Dealers but will also induce the spirit of wellbeing in them. He demanded an early action and immediate orders in this behalf in the larger interests of both the people and as well as the FCS&CA department.
