Kathua students shine in National level Kala Utsav 2021

Kathua :Five students of Government schools of District Kathua participated in the prestigious national level ‘Kala Utsav 2021’ competitions that concluded here at Teacher Bhawan Gandhi Nagar, Jammu.
‘Kala Utsav’ is an initiative of the Ministry of Education (MOE) wherein students display their talent by competing with each other in different categories such as dance, vocal music, instrumental music, painting etc. The competition is held every year under RashtriyaMadhyamikShikshaAbhiyan (RMSA) to promote finer arts and culture.
This year also competitions were first held at school level and the winners competed at Zonal level, from where the winners got a chance to perform at District level. Further, the district level winners competed at division level and finally the division level winners competed at UT level to get a chance to compete at National level.
Around 18 students from Jammu and Kashmir displayed their talent in this year’s Kala Utsav-2021, out of which 8 belong to Kashmir Division and 10 Jammu Division including 5 students coming from district kathua alone.
Pertinently, J&K level competition saw District Kathua outshine the rest of the districts of Jammu and Kashmir by winning 13 medals which included 7 gold, 4 silver and 2 bronze medals. The best district award was also won by District Kathua only.
The 5 students from Kathua, who represented Jammu and Kashmir at national level this year are Shobha (Little Angels School) in Visual Art 2D category, Vishal (GHS Panyalag, Bani, in Dance Traditional Folk category, Deepak (GHHS Budhi) Visual Art 3 D category, Aniksha (Mount Litera Zee School) in Vocal Music Traditional Folk category and Harsha (GGHSS Kathua) in Dance Traditional Folk category.
The feat was achieved with the joint efforts of the participants, their mentors, HOIs of their Schools, DRG PawanVivek, DICC, Monika Khosla, all ZICCs, Anita Pangotra Master HS Logate and Meena, teacher from HS Logate, evaluators, experts of different art forms, vocational trainers from GHSS Forelain and all other stakeholders.
Director, Deep Raj and Coordinator, PremNath played their roles to perfection resulting in students performing at optimal level, said CEO Kathua, PrakashLalThapa while congratulating the students and staff members.
