Srinagar : Stray dogs killed five sheep after attacking a cow shed in Watlar area of central Kashmir’s Ganderbal district on Thursday, locals said.
Reports said a group of stray dogs barged into the cow shed of Abdul Gani Bhat and killed four sheep and a goat on the spot and left another 13 critically injured.
The victim said that 33 sheep were present in the shed at the time of attack that took place during the intervening night of January 12 and 13.
A team from the Sheep Husbandry Department reached the spot and took the injured sheep to a nearby facility for treatment.
The incident has created panic in the area. People said that this is not the first incident in the area and accused Municipal Council Ganderbal for failing to check the dog menace in the area.
Officials of animal husbandry said that injured sheep are being treated at the veterinary and after that they have to submit a factual position of the incident
