Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav: Rajouri Adm all set to organise mega cultural cum tourism promotion event at Peer Shalak Shrine

An initiative to promote border tourism and traditional culture in district

Rajouri/: Intending to promote border tourism and traditional Culture in the district, the District Administration Rajouri is all set to organise a mega cultural cum tourism promotion event at revered shrine of Peer Shalak located near zero line of the border in Nowshera sub division.
The event would be organised under the aegis of the ongoing Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav on January 20, 2022 to exhibit the traditional and Culture of the district.
District Development Commissioner Rajouri, Vikas Kundal today chaired a meeting of the concerned officers to finalize the arrangements in this regard.
Officers who attended the meeting included ADDC, Pawan Kumar; ADC Rajouri, Sachin Dev Singh; ADC Nowshera, Sukhdev Singh Samyal; CPO, Mohammad Khurshid; CEO RDA, Vivek Puri; SDPO Nowshera, Shaheen Mirza; District Culture Officer, Dr Alam Dar and other concerned officers.
Addressing the officers in the meeting, the District Development Commissioner said that the initiative will help promote the local culture and tourism potential of the border areas and tourism elevation means the prosperity of the whole district.
The DDC said that there is a huge potential of tourism in border destinations and it is the high time to explore these spots to uplift the socio-economic status of the border residents.
He asked the concerned officers to work in close coordination and ensure that all the arrangements for the smooth and successful conduct of the twin events are put in place well in time.
Pertinently, a series of activities including mega cultural events, trekking expedition to Dokhs of Peer Panjal, Himalayan bike rally, Peer Panjal Champion trophy etc have already been organised by the District Administration as a part of the Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav and the upcoming cultural cum tourism promotion event at Peer Shalak would be organised in continuation of these events.
