Srinagar/:The Srinagar Municipal Corporation (SMC) on Saturday hold snow clearance drive on all important stretches running through the city and connecting important destinations, with special focus on the roads leading to hospitals, religious places and the Government offices.
Snow clearance drives were conducted in lanes, by lanes, pavements, Hospitals, Ration Ghats, Electric water supply stations, Religious places, Government Departments and other vital places on priority.
Mayor Srinagar MrJunaidAzimMattu along with Corporators and SMC officers visitedvarious areas in the uptown and the old city to take up on-spot inspection of the snow clearance drive.
SMC Mayor visited SMHS hospital, Super specialty Karan Nagar, CD hospital, Bone and joint hospitalAirport road, Dal interiors,KaniKach, MotiMohalla, etc
Mayor directed the concerned officers to clear the snow from religious places including Hazratbal, Khanyar, NaqshbandSahib, Makhdoom Sahib , ChatiPadshai, other Gurudwara’s,mosques , Imambara’s and shrines.
Besides snow clearance Mayor also took stock of dewatering stations and orders to address waterlogging issues in the city and asked City Drainage Wing be alert ensure dewatering the area.
The snow clearance drive began Friday night only for the swift removal of snow from the main stretches from all the areas including LalChowk, HabbaKadal,MA Road, Hassanabad, SafaKadal, Harisingh High Street, Zero,Bemina, Karan Nagar Kaawdara, FatehKadal, Jammallata, Tulsibagh Peerbagh, Humhama, Rajbagh, Eidgah, Jamia Masjid, Guzarbal, Lawaypora, RajouriKadal and other areas.
The important Lal Chowk-Airport Road was also attended too early in the morning.
