Mayor Srinagar visits different wards to review snow preparedness

Srinagar: In wake of fresh Snowfall forecast prediction, Mayor Srinagar visited various administrative wards in Srinagar City to review snow clearance arrangements that has been put in place in all wards of Srinagar City. He visited Ward 2 LalChowk, Ward 30 Jawahar Nagar, Ward 31 Chanpora Ward 32 Hyderpora ,Ward 33 Humhama and other areas.
Mattu who was accompanied by concerned Corporators of these wards along with Senior Officers of the Corporation including Joint Commissioner Works MrRajinder Singh, Executive Engineer Mechanical MrItratNaseem, Chief Sanitation Officer Nazir Ahmed Baba, Chief Transport Officer MohamadSayadShiekh, Assistant Compost Officer Mohamad Ashraf ,all Ward Officers , Sanitary Inspectors passed on clear instructions to the concerned that there should be no lack in snow clearance drives as it has to be swift and prompt snow removal exercise in case of fresh snowfall.
During his visit to Ward 2 Lalchowk ,he directed concerned that besides clearing snow from city centre points, pavements/ footpaths ,embankments, It has to be ensured that two snow clearance machines are to be deputed in the residential areas so that the snow is simultaneously being cleared from all the interior residential areas of the Lalchowk area including Maisuma, SamundarBagh, Koker Bazaar, Court Road, Barbarshah, ChinarBagh, Abiguzar and other areas.
Mayor said besides prioritizing snow clearance from all roads leading to hospitals and religious places, including shrines and gurdwaras, the lanes, by-lanes and the interiors of the residential areas has to be cleared in parallel for hassle free pedestrians movement. There should be no snow left unattended anywhere in the residential areas in other wards of the city too said MrMattu.
He further stressed that there has to be a complete organized team work in snow clearance drives with a proper Coordination among one and all.
Ward officers on the occasion were directed to take a tour along with the concerned Corporators and supervisors in their respective wards so that the zones are created within a ward for easy , quick and Beat-wise timely removal of snow.
while visiting to ward 30 Jawahar Nagar MrMattu inspected the functioning and readiness of snow clearance vehicles stationed in the ward and passed on directions that their services shall be pressed in place immediately when there is a snow fall and also ensure
MrMattu also visited ward 32 Hyderpora and ward 33 Humhama wherein the concerned were directed not to show any dereliction on their duties in snow clearance exercises.
Besides Men and Machinery including Snow clearance vehicles Robots, snow loaders, SMC will be pressing into service eight new snow plough’s for snow for swift snow clearance drives.
