Ang : The Deputy Commissioner (DC) Anantnag, Dr PiyushSingla Thursday undertook extensive tour of Kokernag sub division.
The DC visited Lisser Power Grid Station and reviewed the power supply in the area. He inspected the 50 MW transformer installed to augment the power capacity of the grid. It is in place to mention that the DC on a previous visit had directed the officials from KPDCL to ensure upgradation of capacity at the station to reduce power outage.
Dr Singla visited SDH Kokernag and inspected several sections of the hospital. He directed the medical staff to remain punctual and reviewed the availability of medicine at the health facility and heating arrangements. He interacted with several patients at the hospital and was apprised about prompt and effective delivery of service.
The DC directed the hospital administration to expedite the process for setting up a blood bank at the hospital and to ensure thay USG facility is available on at least 4 days of the week.
He said that Jan Aushadi stores have been established at several places in the district and people should take benefit of affordable and quality assured medicine available at these stores.
Dr Singla also visited the Kokernag Trout Fish Farming Project. He was informed that 20 lakh seedlings will be produced this year and distributed among breeders.
He said that Trout has been chosen as the product for Anantnag under ODOP. Several credit facilitation schemes and assitance for marketing and distribution is being provided by the government. He said the youth should come forward and take benefit from such meaningful employment generation outlays.
Dr Singla emphasized that Kokernag is an important tourist resort and ecologically sensitive area. The district administration has constituted a special taak force to check illegal construction, he added.
He stressed on officials from Revenue and Kokernag Development Authority to ensure that illegal constructions are identified and demolished in a time bound manner.
The DC during the tour was accompanied by SDM Kokernag, TehsildarKokernag among other senior officials.
Later in the day, DC chaired a meeting of the rent assessment committee. 7 rent assessment cases were finalized during the meeting related to Police, FCS&CA, etc.
The meeting was attended by ADC Anantnag, SE R&B, Ex, Engineer R&B and DySP besides concerned land and building owners.
