4-day Poetry Festival begins with Hindi ‘KaviSamalan’ in Jammu

Jammu | :A 4-day Poetry Festival organized by Jammu and Kashmir Academy of Art, Culture and Languages commence here Thursday
The event was presided over by renowned Hindi poet and writer Prof. (Dr.) Raj Kumar.Prof. NirmalVinod, Dr. A S Amn Additional Secretary and Dr. JavaidRahi Chief Editor of JKAACL were in the presidium.
The event began Thursday with a Hindi ‘KaviSamalan’ at the K L Saigal Hall .
Prof Raj Kumar in his presidential address appreciated the Academy for its endeavor to develop national as well as regional languages . He said organizing a literary festival in various languages of the region will promoteDogri, Hindi , Punjabi and Urdu .
Dr. A S Amn in his welcome address stated that the objective of this event is to provide a platform to poets to display their intellectual thoughts before an invited audience.
He said the Academy is going to hold more mega events in 2022 .
Dr. NirmalVinod said that literature played an important role in the freedom movement and poetry in particular was instrumental to inculcate the awareness of nationalism among the masses.
The prominent poets who recited their poems on the various themes were Prof.RajKumar,Dr.Adarshparkash ,prof Nirmalvinod ,ShyamBihari, Naresh Kumar Udas,MaharajKrishanMoosa,SanjeevBhasin, Dr.Dogra,pawankhajura, ,Dr.ParshotamKumar,VikramSahi,Amita Mehta, ,Dr.Jaspal Singh, ,Suman Paul, ,Sonia upadhyay
The proceedings of the programme were conducted by Rita Khadyalincharge Hindi Sheeraza .
Dr. JavaidRahi presented vote of thanks.
