Inclement weather: DC Doda reviews crisis response preparedness of line deptts

Doda | : Deputy Commissioner Doda, Vikas Sharma Tuesday directed the heads of the essential services departments to keep their men and machinery in readiness mode to deal with any exigency in view of weather advisory issued by the Government of J&K.
Chairing a meeting, the DC asked the departmental heads to activate the field staff or they will be held responsible for the delayed response to public calls for restoration of disrupted services due to inclement weather.
He further asked the officers to ensure round the clock functioning of departmental Control rooms and quality disposal of grievance.
The departments were asked to give wide publicity to the helpline (control room) numbers and furnish the list and mobile numbers of contractors, their allotted roads (division wise) by Tuesday itself and mobolise them for the restoration process, wherever required.
With regard to the availability of ambulances, medicines and doctors including paramedic staff, the DC directed the Chief Medical Officer to ensure adequate stocks of medicines and well equipped ambulance service in the far off health centres.
The PDD was asked to adequate measures for timeline replacement of damaged transformers and furnish the list of locations where replacement takes more than 48 hours. Besides, the department was asked to submit the daily report as per the devised format about the power scenario in the district.
The FCS&CA department was asked to ensure sufficient stocks of food grains, LPG and other essential items in the remote areas of Gandoh, Dessa, Marmat and Gundana areas for atleast three months.
The NHIDCL authorities informed that stage tenders for restoration of road from 9th KM uptoThathri has already been allotted. The DC directed the authorities to keep their men and machinery ready for immediate restoration, if needed.
The meeting was attended by SSP Doda, ADC Doda, CPO Doda, SE PWD, SDM Gandoh, Ex En PWD, Ex En Mechanical, sEx En PMGSY Thathri, DIO Doda, EO MC Doda, representative of NHIDCL, besides representatives of various line departments were also present.
