DC Kupwara reviews preservation, dev of heritage sites

Kupwara| :The Deputy Commissioner (DC) Kupwara, Imam Din today convened a meeting of District Level Coordination cum Implementation Committee (DLCIC) for Revival, Restoration and Preservation of Architecture and Heritage sites to review the preservation and development of approved heritage sites in the district.
It was informed in the meeting that the Department of Archives, Archaeology and Museums J&K has approved two heritage projects in Kupwara district under Revival, Restoration and Preservation of Architecture and Heritage sites scheme. The heritage projects approved include ZiyaratShariefDarbar-i-Younisia at ZurhamaKupwara and ZiyaratShariefMohd Amin QureshiOwaisi at Kupwara.
It was also informed that the department has formulated Detailed Project Reports for upgradation and preservation of these two sites at a cost of Rs.39.70 lakh each.
The DC directed the concerned officers for close coordination in proper implementation of the projects. He directed them for joint visit of officers from Archaeology, Tourism and District Administration to the approved heritage sites for its preservation and development.
ADC Kupwara, GhulamNabiBhat; JD Planning, Ex. Engineer R&B, DS&EO, DIO, AD Planning and other concerned attended the meeting.
