SKUAST-J holds 17th Meeting of Board of Studies

Jammu | :The seventeenth meeting of Board of Studies for Faculty of Agriculture of SKUAST-Jammu was held Monday in the Conference Hall of Division of Agricultural Economics and ABM under the chairmanship of Prof. Rakesh Nanda, Director Education, SKUAST-Jammu.
The agendas of the meeting were presented by Dr ParshantBakshi, Member Secretary that includes Upgradation of Fisheries Unit into Division of Fisheries, Institutionalization of Masters of Fisheries Science, Adoption of Common regulations of ICAR for PG/Ph.D programme, change in eligibility criteria for admission to Masters’ Programme in Forestry, Modification in New Course Curriculum of various degree programmes, finalization of syllabus for admission to M.Sc. Plant Biotech and Molecular Biology etc.
In the concluding remarks, Prof Rakesh Nanda stressed on adhering to academic regulations and framing of such curricula which will help in overall development of students so that they are able to compete both at national and international level. He said SKUAST-Jammu is the first to adopt curricula of Broad Subject Matter Area committee.
Prof. Rakesh Nanda also advised all the faculty members to work hard and leave no stone unturned for maintaining the quality standards in academic excellence of SKUAST-Jammu.
Professor Bikram Singh, Dean, Faculty of Agriculture, Prof. M. S. Bhadwal, Dean, Faculty of Veterinary Sciences and A.H.; Prof. S. E. H. Rizvi, Dean, Faculty of Basic Sciences; Prof. S. K. Gupta, Registrar; Prof. JyotiKachroo, Director Planning and Monitoring; Prof. Rajesh Katoch, DSW; Prof. RajenderPeshin, I/C University Examination Cell and all the members of Board of Studies including Professors’, Associate Professors’ and other members participated in the meeting.
The meeting ended with a vote of thanks from Dr ParshantBakshi, Member Secretary, Board of studies. Dr Satesh Kumar and Sh. Rakesh Sharma acted as Rapporteurs.
